1996

Morgan Elizabeth was born on June 19, 1996 in Salt Lake City, Utah at LDS hospital.  She weighed in at 8 lbs. 9 oz. even though she was not due until July 18th!  My pregnancy was difficult because my Lupus came out of remission and I was in and out of the hospital or on bed rest for a lot the pregnancy.  Morgan was given betamethisone to help her lungs to develop faster because the doctors knew that she would be early and I was given tons of prednisone in attempts to get that darn Lupus back into remission.

We were so relieved when Morgan had finally arrived and were saddened when she had to go back to the PICU when she was three days old.  Morgan had jaundice pretty bad, but she was able to bring her "suntanning lights" home with her after a few days back in the hospital.

I was able to stay home and enjoy motherhood with Morgan, while Jeff took 25 units a quarter to finish his degree.  Let's just say that I enjoyed motherhood much more when she was through with her "colicky stage" though. Morgan had fun crawling backwards and then she would cry when she got stuck at a wall and had lots of funny names for things such as: she called peanut butter "pea-dee-bud-doo", banana was just moving her tongue on her lips and making a funny sound, she called a stroller a "doo-doo", and last, but not least, she called herself "moggy".
