1995

Jeff and I got married on March 17, 1995 in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  We had a ring ceremony and reception in the foothills of Santa Barbara the next day for our family and friends.  Orlando, Florida was the destination of our honeymoon.  As I was 21 and Jeff was 24, we were still kids at heart (Jeff still is!) and we found ourselves at Disneyworld, Epcot Center & MGM Universal Theme Park.  We had a great time on our honeymoon and returned to our home in Utah.

Jeff was finishing an undergraduate degree in economics and I was finishing my degree in Elementary Education at the University of Utah (sorry BYU fans)!

We spent our first Christmas in a hotel in Las Vegas of all places!  We went to California to spend time with family before Christmas and left to drive home on Christmas Eve Day.  When the weather turned to blizzards and whiteouts in Utah, we decided that we better stop where we were.  I guess that everyone else had the same idea, or they wanted to go to Vegas for Christmas for some unknown reason, and we had a very difficult time finding a hotel room.  Imagine Mary (Catherine) being turned way from hotel after hotel on Christmas Eve being told that there was no room at the inn!
